Massage Therapy Grads Passing State Exam at Rates Exceeding State and National Average

Normal, IL –Midwest College of Cosmetology, (MCC) is pleased to announce its massage therapy graduates have a pass completion rate of 66.67 percent on the State of Illinois Examination for massage therapists. This percentage is significantly higher than both the state and national averages for successful completion of the examination. Passing this rigorous exam is required for licensure in the state of Illinois.

According to the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, (NCBTMB), the average pass completion rate for massage therapists in Illinois is 57.96 percent and the national completion rate is only 56.42 percent.

When asked about these impressive statistics, Jennifer Fiorini, MCC's program director said, "While it comes as no surprise, I am immensely pleased. It's a testament to the depth and breadth of the training our instructors provide.” She went on to add, “We work hard to assure our students understand the art and science behind their chosen career and they have the knowledge and experience to be confident and capable practitioners.”

Massage Therapy, an increasingly popular program, is just one of several programs taught at MCC. In addition, students can also earn a certificate in Cosmetology, Esthetics, or Instructor Training. And because of it’s affiliation with Lincoln College - Normal, students can complete an Associate's degree in Applied Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as well.

Founded in 1990, it is considered one of the premier cosmetology schools in Illinois. MCC is a member of the Illinois Association of Cosmetology Schools and the American Association of Cosmetology Schools.
